Abstract

[en] In our society, cutting costs has become the norm, even in the health care sector. This situation is reflected by a reduction in hospital lengths of stay for instance. Part of the solution involves keeping patients at home, thanks to cutting edge monitoring technologies. However, e-health is in its early days as far as monitoring, well-being or medical treatment are concerned.

E-technologies are nowadays a matter of connecting every single thing, everyone, everywhere, and the health sector is no exception to the rule. That is the reason why we talk about Internet of Everything, a constantly evolving subject that builds tomorrow's world. Mainly based on the business model canvas, the journey in that world will in all likelihood help the reader discover the future of his everyday life. To guide him throughout this trip, we divided this work in two main interdependent issues.

On the one hand, the work aims at clarifying the concept of "Internet of Everything" in the health sector. Following the business model canvas, we study some of its characteristics and illustrate them with many examples. Then, three typologies are designed to finally build a diagram that helps the average person understand the field.

On the other hand, we focus on the innovative business models shaping the future of e-health. What are the emerging actors of this economy? How are their businesses organized? What is the chain value that eventually delivers the value proposition to the customer? Through a number of practical examples chosen for their local or pioneering nature, we highlight the economic mechanisms used by these actors to develop their businesses.
