Abstract
[en] This Master thesis is based on the implementation of a management tool in an engineering consulting company. The objectives of this tool are the communication and the management of the workload and human resources. This Master thesis is part of lean process in a growing company. To achieve this purpose, the student followed a change management sequence.
First, the student determined, by interviews, the context of the company and of the three departments that are part of the tool test.
Based on this context, two tools were suggested to the three departments: the first one is a paper board to display the workloads and the human resources, linked with a weekly meeting for all the people of the department. The second one is a spreadsheet to display the past, present and future workloads of the team members. It will helpful for the managers.
Then, the employees gave their opinions on these two methods and on the forms that they want.
Based on these feedbacks, the first tool was fit for the three departments in three different boards. This method to display workloads and humans resources was tested during six weeks. The final version of the management tool is a spreadsheet based on the Earliest due date algorithm. It will not be tested during this Master thesis.
The results of this implementation are based on the employee interviews. The method is a full success in two departments and a qualified success in the third one.
Finally, improvements were suggested to better fit the management tool to the departments.
