Abstract
[en] Many people do not know the term “Holding Company” and the meaning of it. In order to understand a holding company, some relevant questions can be raised: what is it, how does it work, how is it created, what are the advantages of a holding company and what could be the incentives for a company to decide in favor of creating a holding structure. Moreover, I want to particularly focus on family businesses in the course of this paper. Therefore, it might be questioned why family businesses are interested in founding a holding.
