[en] We live in world run by the data and the digitalization. The constantly increasing quantity of data created and collected has to be processed and analyzed in order to improve the management of organization.
To adapt to this new reality, some information systems have been created. They are a lot more performing than those before and allow organizations to manage and integrate more data than ever. We are speaking about the ERP systems. However, many organizations do not take the step yet.
In this context, we study the different worries or barriers that organizations can have and give some clues to encourage them to choose an ERP on the Cloud.
Firstly we define the main concepts of this thesis, namely the ERP and the Cloud. We will also explain why a company should choose an ERP system and highlight some advantages of the Cloud.
Secondly we introduce two other concepts closely linked to the Cloud: the Edge Computing and the Security including the Cloud security and the major data breaches on the Cloud.
Thirdly we develop more deeply the ERP on the Cloud, its advantages, regrouped into three classes, namely the financial, the time-saving and the accessibility; but also its limits and choice criteria.
Finally, we make an analysis and give some clues for the implementation of an ERP on the Cloud. Indeed, a clear and well established change management plan facilitates the global understanding of the project and improves the success of its implementation.
To conclude, we can affirm that there are some tracks in order to encourage companies to choose an ERP on the Cloud rather than an ERP on premise, but the question arisen is "Will these companies be open to hear the benefits the ERP on the Cloud could provide them and overcome their preconceived ideas?"
