Abstract

[en] The insulation resistance (and its evolution over ten minutes) is a commonly measured parameter to identify a possible degradation of the insulation of the windings in an electric machine (which results in a significant decrease of the insulation resistance).
But the evolution of the insulation resistance results:
- not only the increase (possible) of the overall conductivity of insulating materials
- but also of a possible increase of the surface conductivity.
This surface conductivity may be the result of the degradation of the insulating materials. But it can also be influenced by environmental conditions, mainly moisture and contaminants (dust, grease, ...) that settle during the life of the machine.
The aim of this thesis is to study the respective impact of the two types of conductivity in terms of actual degradation of the insulation.
A first approach, bibliographic, will be realized. Then, an experimental approach, under well-defined conditions, should make it possible to draw quantitative conclusions.
