Résumé
[fr] CO2 capture based on the chemical reaction with amine is the most developed technology
in the domain of CO2 capture at the moment. Given the general growing interest in reduc-
ing GHG’s worldwide, new projects using the technology are being developed. Therefore,
there is definite interest in optimizing the technology. When these amine cycles are ap-
plied to CCGT plants, one of the main points of improvement is the CO2 concentration
of the gas at the entrance of the capture process which is low in the case of a conventional
process.
Selective exhaust gas recirculation (S-EGR) and exhaust gas reciruclation (EGR) are
two methods that can overcome this problem. Their application on an industrial scale is
studied and it is found that only EGR is currently applicable on this scale. So this study
focuses on the impact that EGR has on the CO2 capture process with monoethylamine
(MEA). Through a modeling of the process on Aspen Plus it is shown that the use of this
technology leads to a reduction of the specific reboiler duty (SRD) of about 1.6 % and a
reduction of the solvent flow rate of 2.5 %. Finally an economic analysis based on Aspen
Process Economic Analyzer shows that these improvements result in a reduction of 0.6 %
of life plant cost.
