Stabilisation du diabète sucré félin : comparaison des différentes insulinothérapies

Abstract

Le diabète sucré félin est une pathologie très fréquemment rencontrée en médecine vétérinaire. Le pronostic peut être très bon avec une potentielle rémission si le diabète est correctement régulé. Cette régulation optimale présente un défi aussi pour bien pour le vétérinaire que pour le propriétaire. La recherche d’une insuline à action ultra-longue a toujours été d’actualité et est particulièrement intéressante pour la race féline compte tenu de leur caractère, leur prise de nourriture aléatoire et leur accès à l’extérieur. Au travers de cette synthèse de publications scientifiques, nous présenterons les différentes insulinothérapies actuelles et futures et nous soulèverons la question de la potentielle rémission du diabète sucré félin.

Feline diabetes mellitus is a very common pathology in veterinary medicine. The prognosis can be very good with a potential remission if the diabetes is properly regulated. This optimal regulation presents a challenge for both the veterinarian and the owner. The search for an ultra-long acting insulin has always been a topical issue and is particularly interesting for the feline breed due to their often reluctant character, their random food intake and their access to the outdoors. Through this synthesis of scientific publications, we will present the different current and future insulin therapies and we will raise the question of the potential remission of feline diabetes mellitus.
