Abstract

[en] The objective of the Master thesis was to study two safer and greener electrolyte alternatives to the classical liquid organic electrolyte used in lithium-ion batteries. The two alternatives studied were the gel polymer electrolyte and the water-in-salt electrolyte. The lithium-ion batteries investigated were composed of a lithium iron phosphate positive electrode and a lithium titanate oxide negative electrode, both produced through a water-based manufacturing process. The electrochemical performances of the electrodes with the classical liquid electrolyte and the two alternatives were investigated in half-cell and full-cell configurations.
