Abstract
[en] In order to analyze the virome of Lolium perenne in Belgium, 78 samples were collected across two low-maintained ecosystems such as pastures and grasslands. The Virion-Associated-Nucleic Acids library preparation and High Throughput Sequencing enabled the detection of 20 viral species. Totiviridae and Partitiviridae species dominating the grassland ecosystem and Solemoviridae and Tombusviridae members were for the pasture field. RT-PCR was used to validate HTS detection for ryegrass mosaic virus , lolium latent virus and BYDV-PAV or more recently renamed luteovirus pavhordei). The Peta scale database provided by serratus.io was searched and expanded knowledge regarding novel liege poaecae viruses. Presence of aphid-transmitted and persistent viruses stress vector’s role in virus spread and the need for broader wild virus reservoir studies
