Abstract
[en] This research has a main focus on ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community which has an objective of creating a collective ASEAN identity in 2025 even though there are differences in the political system, culture and languages of each member states of ASEAN which makes it difficult to form a collective identity and compromise. In this study, researcher used a qualitative approach and using the concepts of identity, and collective identity and also the theory of constructivism to analyze this particular case which is The Creation of Collective Identity in ASEAN, this paper will also explain the efforts that have been made by ASEAN and also challenges in achieving a collective identity in ASEAN. The results showed that the creation of collective identity in ASEAN is possible to achieve as ASEAN has committed to continue their effort to create a collective identity apart from several major and minor conflicts that occurred in the region.
