Abstract
[en] Through short, individual poem analyses, this dissertation assesses the extent to which one can adopt a Camp reading of Lana Del Rey’s 2020 poetry book, Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass. This dissertation delineates Del Rey's distinctive aesthetic, her overarching imagery and iconography, in relation to the Camp sensibility, as defined by Susan Sontag in her 1964 essay Notes on Camp.
