Abstract
[en] This study examines how officials of the European Union and the United States legitimise violence in political discourse during the Israel-Hamas war (2023-2025). Using the Discourse-Historical Approach within Critical Discourse Analysis, combined with corpus-assisted methods, it analyses 84 official speeches from EU and U.S. senior political leaders in executive branches. The research identifies how language frames the conflict’s actors, events and actions, and how discursive strategies and linguistic devices construct moral legitimacy.
