Abstract

[en] This final-year project proposes a methodology for optimizing architectural plans that integrates artificial intelligence and the environmental criterion of natural light. Within the context of ecological transition and the development of digital tools, the research explores how AI-assisted optimization and generation technologies can be mobilized from the earliest stages of design to improve spatial quality, environmental performance, and the efficiency of the architectural process.

The study combines a theoretical analysis of optimization methods, a comparison of AI-integrated software, interviews with architectural firms, and an experiment applied to a case study in the Liège region.
The results highlight the potential of AI tools to accelerate the exploration of solutions and integrate environmental criteria into the design process earlier. The work culminates in the proposal of a methodological framework to support architects in adopting more efficient and sustainable design practices.
