Abstract
[en] Prayon enterprise is one of the Mondial leader in the field of phosphates for several industrial applications, such as food, fertilisers and pharmaceutical products. Recently the production has moved to battery materials, in particular the research efforts are addressed to the production of LiFePO4, which can be used as cathode of a lithium battery. First a lab pilot plant has been implemented and produced 300 kg/month of product, then an industrial pilot plant has been built in the Engis site, producing 100 t/y of LiFePO4. The reactor for this process is a rotating tube furnace, working at around 700°C. However, the purity of the outlet product is not constant, as desired by the users, so several tests are performed in order to find the right combination of parameters leading the right composition. The aim of this TFE is to determine the influence of the furnace inlet parameters on the quality of the outlet product, using data mining and data treatment methods on the data obtained by some sensors posed in the furnace.
