Résumé
[en] Flow induced vibration calculations in shell and tubes heat exchangers proposed by TEMA have been implemented in this work. Four phenomena were taken into account to study the vibrations: Turbulent buffeting, vortex shedding, fluidelastic instability, and acoustic resonance. The study is restricted to fluids in shell side. A critical study of the TEMA method was conducted, using other methods of calculation such as HTFS or VDI. The flow velocity isn't regular all along the heat exchanger, varying from one place to another. Different approaches to calculate the flow velocity have been suggested in this work. The calculation is thereafter integrated to the heat exchanger program of the company Henkens-Frères and intervenes while sizing a heat exchanger. It therefore appears that, when a heat exchanger is well sized, vibration issues hardly appear. Nevertheless, it is always better to consider vibration inspections as important as the pressure drop or heat exchanges while sizing a heat exchanger. This control will help avoid vibrations in the exchanger before its construction, because once it’s done, there is nothing left to do.
