Mise en place d'un outil considérant l'impact paysager d'un projet d'agriculture urbaine et application aux jardins partages parisiens

Abstract

Facing the major challenges of our century, the limits between city and rural areas tend to be blurred under demographic and urban pressure. Nevertheless urban space can be the theater of a singular phenomenon, set on between agriculture and city. As part of a larger study on landscape architecture in partnership with the company Green SURF, an university of Liège spin off, this study is interested in the relationship between urban farming and landscape. The aims of the present research is to establish a tool capable to consider the landscape impact of a urban farming project. This tool will be tested through three case studies and the participation of landscape architects colleagues.

This work has been carried on in the city of Paris, within three community gardens gardens that have been selected according to very precise criteria. The tool called "fiche projet" is based on an existing version owned by Green SURF company. This new tool has been completely rethought focusing on the economical, ecological and societal benefits of urban agriculture and tries to create a bond between the benefits and the landscape impact that it follows.

The results coming from the utilization of the “fiche projet” showed that it exists a correlation between some benefits and the landscape impact that they produce. The consideration of the landscape dimension in the urban farming projects should be consider from the beginning of the future design in order to be optimized.

Face aux enjeux majeurs de notre siècle, la limite entre ville et campagne tend à s’estomper sous la pression démographique et urbaine. Pourtant, l’espace urbain est le théâtre d’un phénomène singulier, entre agriculture et ville. Dans le cadre d’une recherche en architecture du paysage en partenariat avec l’entreprise Green Solutions for Urban and Rural Farming (Green SURF), spin off de l’Université de Liège, la présente étude s’intéresse à la relation entre l’agriculture urbaine et le paysage. Les objectifs de cette recherche visent la création d’un outil capable de considérer l’impact paysager d’un projet d’agriculture urbaine. Cet outil sera mis en situation à travers trois cas d’étude et la participation de collègues architectes paysagistes.

Ce travail a été mené dans la ville de Paris au sein de trois jardins partagés sélectionnés d’après des critères précis. L’outil appelé "fiche projet" s’appuie sur une version existante appartenant à l’entreprise Green SURF. Totalement repensée, la nouvelle fiche projet veut faire le lien entre les bénéfices économiques, écologiques et sociaux des projets d’agriculture urbaine et l’impact paysager qui en découle.

Les résultats issus de l’utilisation de la fiche projet ont montré qu’il existe une correspondance entre certains bénéfices et l’impact paysager qu’ils génèrent. La prise en compte de la dimension paysagère dans les projets d’agriculture urbaine gagnera donc à être considérée dès la conception d’un futur projet afin d’y être optimisée.
