Résumé
[en] Pose tells the story of queer people of colour who are living in the late 1980s and early 1990s in a society which rejects them for being who they are. Facing adversity, the Ballroom community’s members do not have any other choice but to support and uplift each other. The aim of this dissertation is not only to offer a critical viewpoint on how transgender women of colour are represented in the show but also to challenge the beliefs, prejudices, and stereotypes conveyed by white cisheteronormative society.
