Résumé
[en] Air transport is the fastest way to move goods in the world. The shipment of goods
from their origins to their destinations is not a single service, but rather a multitude of steps
performed by several air cargo players. This information-intensive supply chain has
unfortunately not benefited from digitalization like other sectors in recent years. This has led
to various fluidity problems as a result of the ever-growing activity.
In this context, Liege Airport decided to carry out a study on its perishable flow,
which is certainly the most sensitive to the lack of fluidity due to the fragile nature of its
goods. The perishable flow was also chosen because it has recently been subject to new
regulations aimed at reinforcing the sanitary controls carried out on the goods. This study is
divided into two main stages.
The first is a modelling of the different process of this flow at Liege Airport. This was
done on the basis of interviews with all the stakeholders in the flow. This modelling does not
follow any modelling standard apart from those of Liege Airport internally.
The second is an idea for an application to digitalize this flow. This application would
act as a common communication platform between the different actors, including authorities
such as the AFSCA or customs. This application project is based on the modelling of the first
stage and is structured around 4 phases: "AFSCA documentary control", "AFSCA physical
control", "Customs declaration" and "departure of the goods".
This application would allow each actor to share useful information on the goods and
their progress in the logistics chain. In addition, it will provide better visibility of the flow for
Liege Airport as well as valuable data that can be interpreted statistically in order to determine
the elements that slow down the flow.
