Abstract
[en] This master thesis contributes to the development of relevant models for the simulation of the European power system and its short term prospects. It focuses on the simulation of high shares of renewables together with different flexibility options (demand side management, sector coupling, transport electrification, storage. . . ), and considers the planned retirements of generation units (e.g. nuclear units) and the recent trends in terms of fuel prices and fuel scarcity. The simulations are finally used to train a machine learning model to be integrated into a broader system dynamics model considering the long-term evolution of the energy systems.
