Abstract

[en] Based on the intention to get an overview of the current regulatory situation in the energy sector, this thesis was written with a focus on investments in grid operators in order to evaluate the possibilities of delays in the expansion of electricity grids due to lack of investments. For this purpose, a qualitative analysis with expert interviews regarding the topic was conducted and relevant factors were identified. These factors were then evaluated and translated into risks in order to answer the central questions of the paper. It was found that there are some risks with regard to the situation and that these can certainly have an impact on investment decisions. Overall, however, the network operators still receive sufficient investments, so that a threat of completely missing investments is not considered relevant. However, individual companies will face major challenges and will only receive the necessary funds to a limited extent or will be affected by the situation. With regards to the initial question concerning the political goals, it must be noted that these will probably be difficult to achieve.
