Résumé
[en] The aerodynamics of the stator of a compressor leads to many challenges. The main estabilising phenomenon is the vortex passage generated by corner separation in a near surge situation. The inclusion of fin technology can alleviate this effect. In this thesis, the implementation of this technology through non-structured meshing will be put into practice. This type of mesh is chosen because it offers a lot of freedom in design, allowing for the inclusion of different types of refinement, which is quite restricted in structured meshing.
A detailed study of the flow over the stator where this technology will be tested is carried out to generate different designs made using CAD software to see if it is possible to mitigate this effect. These designs are inspired by Gabriel Mondin's doctoral thesis, where a parametrised design of the fin is carried out, and thousands of simulations are conducted to reveal the most optimal parameters.
As a result, it was not possible to find a design that reduced the vortex passage formed near surge. However, the fin technology has shown to be useful in mitigating the large blockage near the hub due to leading edge separation caused by the negative incidence present in the operating line.
