Résumé
[en] Objective: This study describes changes in the gill and serum bacteriolytic activity of farmed Chelon labrosus as a function of different salinities and diets. The aim of this study is to understand the combined effects of salinity and feed analysis to improve the s ustainability and profitability of aquaculture of this species.
Methodology: 180 Chelon labrosus were subjected to three different salinit ies ( 16 ppt, 35 ppt and 46 ppt )), as well as to two types of feed : a conventional diet with fish oil and a diet based on linseed oil. Histological analyses were carried out on the gills (structure, presence of ionocytes, presence of blood, presence of aneurysms). Bacteriolytic activity was also measured to determine their ability to defend themselves against bacteria.
Conclusion: Histological analysis of the gills showed that there was no significant difference between the different parameters studied . This could mean that the two parameters studied were not stressful, or that the stresses generated were not strong enough to cause a change. Bacteriolytic activity also did not differ as a function of salinity and feeding.
