Résumé
[en] This master thesis aims to clarify and formalize the concept of impact-driven enterprises by identifying the appropriate certifications, labels, and performance metrics for those emerging companies. It particularly focuses on VIDYA, currently undergoing BCorp certification, in order to develop relevant tools to support its impact strategy.
The literature review reveals the landscape and challenges faced by Belgian impact-driven enterprises today, providing a framework and gathering relevant information on this rapidly expanding ecosystem.
Like traditional businesses, impact-driven enterprises encounter challenges and obstacles when it comes to measuring the performance of their activities. However, impact-driven enterprises face an additional complexity as they must evaluate their performance across three pillars: economic, environmental, and societal. These performance indicators also play a crucial role in the evaluation process for certifications and labeling of products, services, or the company itself.
Given the multitude of options in terms of KPIs, labels, and certifications available to these enterprises, the objective of this thesis is to guide and provide direction to entrepreneurs navigating through these various choices.
By drawing upon comprehensive literature research, insights from experts, and practical experience, this work offers a compass in the world of impact-driven enterprises.
