Résumé
[en] This study focuses on evaluating the performance of the Revolver Pump, an innovative oil pump concept that operates by centrifugal effect while ensuring a fixed positive displacement under certain conditions. The rotational speed of this pump, significantly higher than that used in current SAB’s technologies, paves the way for substantial innovation. This results in advantageous theoretical flow rates and a significant gain in compactness.
This work involves a first iteration of the pump performance evaluation, requiring the author to start from scratch. It is divided into four main stages. The first stage involves developing a 1D model of the pump, primarily based on Euler’s equation for turbomachinery, and obtaining curves characterizing the pump. The second stage aims to simulate various pumps with different geometric and performance parameters to individually test their flow rate performance based on the 1D model. The third stage consists of analyzing the obtained results using statistical tools to identify design families, thus facilitating potential future work. Finally, in the fourth stage, a selection of reference pumps, giving a theoretical average flow rate of around 25,000 L/h, will be made for different rotation speeds based on two criteria: overall volume and geometric ripples/pulsations amplitude. This approach will enable the development of pumps that are theoretically at least 1.5 times more efficient than current SAB’s technologies.
The various results obtained are limited to theoretical data, relying on the validity of the pump’s 1D model and associated limitations. Therefore, these results should be viewed with caution, as they have not yet been experimentally verified.
