Abstract
[en] An analysis of the trauma experienced by the two narrators of the novel By the Sea and their reactions following these traumatic experiences. This thesis explores whether it is possible to integrate into a new society after immigrating, to become friends with a former sworn enemy and to finally heal from trauma.
[fr] Une analyse des traumatismes vécus par les deux narrateurs du roman By the Sea et de leurs réactions suite à ces expériences traumatisantes. Cette thèse explore s'il est possible de s'intégrer dans une nouvelle société après avoir immigré, de se lier d'amitié avec un ancien ennemi juré et de enfin guérir de traumatismes.
