Abstract
[en] The study investigates acoustic communication in teleost fishes, focusing on the Pomacentridae family, specifically the genus *Dascyllus*. The research aimed to validate whether *Dascyllus abudafur* (Indian Ocean), *Dascyllus aruanus* (Pacific Ocean), and *Dascyllus emamo* (French Polynesia) can be reliably distinguished by their sounds, as suggested by Parmentier et al. (2022). Video recordings from Guam, the Philippines, and the Seychelles were analyzed to describe sounds associated with different behaviors. The study found that the signal jump sounds of *D. aruanus* and *D. abudafur* populations differed across several acoustic parameters, supporting species differentiation and the unity of *D. aruanus* in the Pacific. Differences in the signal jump sounds among the three species confirm their distinct identities.
