Abstract
[fr] This thesis presents a comprehensive analysis of debt specialization and its
determinants in the EU, as well as a comparison with the US public debt mar ket. We discovered similarities as well as differences between the United States
and the European Union after conducting a quantitative analysis of historical
data and researching firm characteristics. We discuss potential economic, legal,
and political reasons for these results. Our key findings reveal that, similar to
US companies, EU firms specialize, although less so, and rely on Term Loans,
whereas US firms rely more on Bonds and Notes.
