Abstract
[fr] This work aims to study the effect of ESG integration on portfolio performance in the technology sector.
By using ESG ratings from LSEG Data Analytics and stocks from three broad markets indexes S&P 500, Nikkei 224 and StoXX 600, we constructed three sorted the companies in different portfolios based on their ESG profile for the period from 2006-2022. We found that on the aggregate level, there is no clear evidence of outperformance or underperformance. However, at the regional level, our resultshighlighted that the high-ESG portfolio consistently underperformed both the non-ESG and low-ESG portfolio.
