Abstract
[en] This thesis investigates the impact of European sustainability regulations on sector-based equity funds, comparing them with the U.S. market. Focusing on the EU's Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and EU Taxonomy, the study explores how varying regulatory frameworks influence financial performance and investment behavior. Using Propensity Score Matching (PSM) to compare sector-based funds across regions, findings reveal that EU funds experience lower returns, particularly in ESG-sensitive sectors like energy and real estate, due to stricter compliance requirements. The research offers insights for policymakers and investors on balancing sustainability objectives with financial performance.
