Abstract
[en] This thesis addresses the following question: How can warehouse management be adapted and
optimised to meet the specific challenges of sporting goods distribution, while incorporating
modern practices and technologies?
The sporting goods sector is characterised by strong seasonality, high variability of demand, wide
diversity of product types, frequent product returns and high obsolescence costs. These factors
create a complex logistics environment that demands innovative solutions to improve operational
efficiency and customer satisfaction.
The study begins with an in-depth exploration of the key principles and technologies aimed at
optimising: storage space management, flow management, packaging management, returns
management and inventory management.
The second part of this thesis includes case studies to understand the practical complexities.
Recommendations are made for optimising storage space, internal flows and returns
management. These solutions aim to mitigate the challenges posed by seasonality, product
variability and obsolescence costs.
By combining theoretical concepts with technological applications, this thesis provides feasable
strategies for improving warehouse management in the sporting goods industry.
