Abstract
[en] This master's thesis deals with the topic of media education and media literacy within primary schools of the German-speaking Community of Belgium. It begins with a brief historical overview of the development of media education over the past years. This is followed by a discussion of the role and importance of implementing media literacy in primary schools. It furthermore outlines the current guidelines in regard to media literacy issued by the authorities of the German-speaking Community. Building on this, the thesis proposes an adapted and updated version the these guidelines, to better meet today's needs.
