Résumé

[en] In a context marked by the growing importance of data utilization for decision-making, Company EDN implemented the Odoo ERP in October 2025 to centralize its data as well as its operational and commercial activities. Beyond operational gains, the company is also seeking to better exploit its data for decision-making purposes. This thesis therefore addresses the following question: “How can the implementation of an ERP improve decision-making within a service SME? Case study: EDN - Extermination de Nuisibles”.

To answer this question, we carried out research on the role of data in decision-making as well as on information systems within companies. ERPs, their functionalities and their role in decision-making, as well as KPIs and dashboards, were also studied to analyse the tools enabling the monitoring and exploitation of data. Finally, the prerequisites necessary for a decision-oriented use of the ERP were analysed.

We then conducted interviews with the two managers of EDN to identify their decision-making needs. Three ERP integration professionals were also interviewed to compare these needs with best practices and the literature.

The analyses show that the ERP improves the centralization and accessibility of data while offering analytical functionalities. However, some data remain external to the ERP and several elements related to management tools still need to be defined for EDN. The results also highlight the importance of human factors and data quality.

The recommendations therefore focus on the long-term use of data, the ERP and management tools for decision-making purposes, both for Company EDN and, more broadly, for service SMEs. This research shows that improving decision-making through the ERP is based on four complementary dimensions: data, people, technologies and processes.
