Abstract

[en] In this Master's thesis, we investigate the impact of dissipation on the topological phase of the Kitaev chain within the framework of open quantum systems. This phase is of particular interest because it supports the emergence of Majorana zero modes, which form the basis of a qubit expected to exhibit enhanced resilience against local sources of noise in topological quantum computing schemes.
