Abstract
[en] The purpose of this study is to develop a model for the oil supply system of a scroll compressor.
The lubricant supply in a compressor is primordial to avoid metal contacts and deterioration
of the compressor.
To introduce the study, the context and the environment in which the compressor works is
described. Afterwards, a description of the analytical, numerical and experimental models
already performed is provided with a discussion about their advantages/disadvantages and
significant results. The actual model is then presented in detail with a first application.
This model can be used to provide the dimensions of the supply system, to classify the different
parameters in function of their influence on the system or to quantify the supply in function
of different parameters as the dimensions or the working conditions of the compressor.
Finally, the model is discussed about its assumptions and the results are compared with
other studies. The model is realised analytically due to its adaptable aspect and facility of
application. The study is based on Bernoulli’s principle along a streamline with pumping
effects and losses. The final model computed in Matlab does not provide accurate results but
the behaviour corresponds to the reality and it gives a first approach to the system.
