Abstract

[fr] Mergers and acquisitions are an important growth strategy for companies, but they also raise significant human and cultural challenges. This dissertation examines how human resource management practices and managerial styles implemented by a parent company influence the cultural integration of acquired SMEs.

The study is based on a qualitative case study conducted within the Novalec Group through semi-structured interviews with employees from different acquired entities and the Human Resources Director. The findings show that HR practices and managerial approaches contribute to the diffusion of the parent company’s values, norms and ways of working. However, their influence largely depends on how they are perceived, interpreted and appropriated by employees. Cultural integration therefore appears as a gradual process characterized by continuous adjustments between organizational harmonization and the preservation of local specificities.
