Abstract
[fr] Through close readings of William S. Burroughs’s Naked Lunch, this dissertation examines the extent to which disgust can be understood as one of the novel’s central aesthetic and structural principles. It analyses Burroughs’s representations of bodily instability, sexual transgression, contaminated consumption, social deviance, and linguistic fragmentation in relation to theories of disgust, abjection, contamination, and moral judgment.
