Abstract
[en] The current context that exists in the Walloon’s companies brings out the importance of the directors getting older. Indeed, more and more are approaching the age of retirement. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze whether the transmission into a worker cooperative can reveal itself to be a viable and interesting alternative.
Firstly, we replace the subject in its context and present the current situation with statistical figures. Then, we approach the concept of the cooperative by formulating its distinctive characteristics. Still in the same chapter, an analysis of the position of the cooperative in the Belgian and in the French systems is carried out. Afterwards, we expose the different benefits and risks which are associated with the co-op model and specifically with the worker cooperative.
Finally, we end up with the analysis of the situation in Wallonia. An investigation is conducted to determine what is currently being set in place and what is still missing. Our approach allows us to point out the efforts that are being done in Wallonia to develop the worker cooperative.
