Abstract
[en] Optical design for thermal IR camera is challenging:
- the lack of glass materials limits the optimization.
- achromatization and athermalization of the lens assembly requires a careful engineering.
On the other hand, a refractive lens system offers a wider field of view with a better compactness than a reflective system.
This Master thesis will survey the capability of a refractive design to accommodate the requirements of the OUFTI-NEXT payload.
Optical performance such as imaging spatial resolution will be constrained with respect to mass and volume requirements.
