Abstract
[fr] During a firing, the powder combustion in the cartridge causes an increase of pressure. This
pressure provokes a backward movement of the recoiling mass. This recoiling mass movement
is absorbed by a brake system. This brake system suffers from this pressure and wears quickly.
This report is about the wear of this brake system and more precisely, give a solution to minimize
the wear suffered by the muzzle brake, a part of the brake system. First, a solution will be numerically tested (mechanical study, CFD study, ...) and analyzed.
After, according to the results, it will be modified, improved and approved. It has to respect
different severe criteria. Finally, a study will be made on the muzzle brake aiming an optimization and a reduction of its
weight.
