Résumé
[en] In the hospital context, bed management is fundamental to ensure both optimal use of hospital resources and optimal patient care. The objective of this project-thesis is to optimize bed management at the Saint-Nicolas Hospital through the definition of indicators. To achieve this aim, we build a rigorous yet tailored evaluation model of bed management and establish recommendations to reduce the gaps between the optimal model and the current model. Our evaluation demonstrates the positive impact of the implementation of a bed management unit on each of the performance dimensions. However, the evaluation also highlights weaknesses in the information system which prevent the use of reliable indicators. To optimize bed management at the Saint-Nicolas Hospital, we therefore emphasize the need to integrate the monitoring and analysis of relevant indicators into practices. In particular, the formal evaluation and analysis of practices and results must drive decision-making at the hospital. We define indicators to integrate at both strategic and operational level.
