Abstract
[en] This thesis experiments with the notions of utopia and dystopia, and concentrates on the theme of hyper-surveillance in dystopian literature, which is first introduced in George Orwell's 1984. In this thesis, I explore this theme by endeavoring an analysis of two dystopian fiction novels: John Brunner's The Shockwave Rider and Dave Eggers's The Circle. According to the close-reading of these texts, I demonstrate how this theme is represented and in which matters it can be linked to contemporary society.
