Abstract

[en] The medical devices market is a dynamic and constantly evolving sector, playing an essential role in healthcare worldwide. It encompasses a wide range of products, from simple devices to advanced technologies. This market offers many opportunities for manufacturers looking to improve healthcare. In this context, outsourcing is an important strategic feature allowing companies to focus on their core competencies while benefiting from external expertise.

The objective of this work will be to examine the market for spinal surgery, focusing on the surgical procedure for intervertebral fusion, and to analyze the relevance of CERHUM's outsourcing strategy aimed at offering its 3D printing technology, MyBone, in this field.

The end-of-studies work will comprise an initial theoretical part, which will cover a market analysis and examine the subcontracting strategy as a CDMO for the company. In the second practical part, the competitive intensity of the market will be analyzed using Porter's 5 forces, followed by an assessment of the company's strengths and weaknesses using a SWOT analysis. To complete this section, a potential partnership study will be presented, highlighting market feedback, and a case study will be used to assess internal management and production aspects.

We will also make recommendations and suggestions based on our research and analysis, before concluding our work.

At the end of this work, we will proceed to reflect on the skills acquired during these two years of professional experience at CERHUM.
