Abstract

[en] This thesis focuses on the role of translation in the possible destigmatization of mental health, more specifically borderline personality disorder (BPD). To do so, Jerold J. Kreisman and Hal Straus' book I Hate You—Don't Leave Me, Understanding the Borderline Personality was chosen. This thesis answers the following questions: what is BPD? How has it been represented and stigmatized? How can translation help (de)stigmatize a text on mental health? Can a translator be personally involved in their work?
