Abstract

[fr] China’s influence in the world keeps rising and being felt in the world. The former discrete factory of the world has converted itself in an economic superpower having its say in all the relevant international affairs. This big increase in power surged with a long term vision and effectively pursued strategies along the years, using reforms, technology transfers, investments and an influence strategy.

The Middle Empire’s influence strategy has been evolving recently with an increase in the importance given to caring about its influence capabilities (through lobbying, communication and a long term vision of its spheres of influence management). By analysing Republic of China’s lobbying and communication strategy in the renewable energies sector of Europe, strong links could be made with Beijing’s overall strategy. This work shows that China is proactive on several areas of influence, acting like what we could compare to a “panda faced dragon” in a long term, strategic way looking for extending its positions, power and influence in the renewable energies market of Europe.
