Résumé
[fr] A recent trend in the technical literature is to exploit nonlinear vibrations instead of ignoring them as is the common practice. This project aims to progress toward the design of the next generation of aerospace structures which will inevitably incorporate nonlinear components. The objective is to utilize topology optimization to design structural components so that they obey a prescribed nonlinear law. The project comprises three parts: (i) the development of a numerical code based on nonlinear 3D elements, (ii) the fabrication of the optimized designs using additive manufacturing and (iii) the experimental verification of the resulting nonlinear law. The academic supervisors for this project are Gaëtan Kerschen and Pierre Duysinx. The work should be carried out at the university, but an internship in industry could be envisioned if the student is interested.
