Abstract
[en] This thesis applies the Lean Startup Method to a payment problem that affects the profitability of bars as expressed by a festival organiser. The two research questions focus on determining the most important problems related to bars in the event industry and on creating a suitable solution using feedback and client interaction. Interviews, direct observations and a landing page highlight that the most important problem to music festival organisers is the waiting time at the bar. The market for reduction in queuing time in music festivals is evaluated at €57 million. The solution considered to reduce the waiting time is a fully automatic beverage distribution system providing an end-to-end experience, from order to delivery. Minimum viable products are used to gather users’ feedback regarding the understanding of the system. The next product iteration will build upon these findings and will consist of on-site testing and business model validation.
